I noticed Gayles post about "breakfast at the Vatican." We had planned on a September" Friday night at the Vatican " to avoid crowds during the day. And just using the audio guide. But now I'm considering the breakfast along with the audio guide. However they say mornings are crowded. I'm assuming the Sistine chapel would be more quiet , since we would get in there first , but then the museum may still be crazy busy in the morning. Anyone out there have thoughts on the differences between the 2 of these?
Thanks Joan
I haven't done the breakfast visit yet but have done a regular day visit and also the Friday night visit. I would stick with the Friday night visit simply because it's not as crowded inside the museums. We were able to sit and enjoy the chapel for about 45 minutes before heading out. This was after spending a lot of time inside the museums going from gallery to gallery.
If you do the breakfast visit you'll get some time in the chapel without a lot of other people but the rest of the museum will be horribly crowded by the time you get to it. The upside is, you'll be able to stay longer since you'll be inside earlier.

Thanks Donna, you helped me decide. We really dislike huge crowds so we will stick with Friday night ! I appreciate all of your insight - I've read several of your responses on sev. other folks' posts . You're very helpful:)
We will not be in Rome on a Friday night and so are interested in the breakfast. The breakfast starts at 8:45. Will they allow me to rush straight to the chapel ? it looks like we'll have to skip the breakfast to get there before the crowds.
