Hello,
I have reservations for the Scavi Tour on a Wednesday in September at 15:00 (3pm). I would like to visit the Vatican Museum and St Peter's Basilica on the same day, but I understand St. Peter's Basilica is closed on Wednesday mornings (until around 13:00) due to the papal audience in St Peter's Square.
I was thinking to spending the morning at the Vatican Museum, have lunch and be ready to visit St Peter's Basilica and climb the dome when it opens at 13:00 (1pm). We would need to be done in time to meet the Scavi tour under the Basilica before 15:00 (3pm). Does anyone know if this sounds possible or if it is a good plan?
Appreciate your input.
