Do they have affordable Rosaries? I mean 5-10 Euros each? I want to get each of my nieces and nephews one and was just curious how much to budget. Thank you!!!
Yes. Ask the nun at the counter to make sure they've been blessed, but likely they all are.
Most churches, with a gift shop, sell all types of Rosaries at various prices.
Don't be surprised, but many of them are made in China.
I purchased a small cross in the gift shop and it was ridiculously overpriced.. Everything I looked at in the gift shop was very expensive. You might get a reasonable one at some of the kiosks around the area for a lot less
There are several gift stores just outside the piazza, better prices.
Outside the Vatican there is a small gift shop and also the Vatican Post office inside. We bought some post cards and mailed them back home to family. I found the prices fair but did not buy anything else.
Thank you. Yes, I know there are tons of places outside to get gifts but it's not the same.
There's a quaint gift shop at St. Peter's Basilica, it's at the top of the stairs, as you wait to enter the Basilica just look to your right and you'll see the sign, it's two levels and you'll find various priced rosaries upstairs and downstairs. It's busy, it's kinda small but stocked like an overflowing fruit basket! Also has religious jewelry in 18 Karat Italian Gold, really a treasure! It's attended by nuns in habits.
There's another gift shop out in St. Peter's Square, after you enter the square thru the turnstiles look left and you'll see a long row of buildings on the left of the Square, it's easy to see, just keep looking left. Also has various priced rosaries and religious jewelry and memorabilia. This shop is staffed by lay people.
Sandra, that's the place I was thinking of. Buying from a street vendor would just not be the same.
There's also a Vatican gift shop at FCO Airport in Rome, I wish I could say exactly where it is offhand, but it's slightly ajar from the main hallways walked to and from your flights, I see it every time I'm in that airport. Nice size gift shop full of beauties! It's always nice to get a head start on looking!
Thank you, yes, def want to really get them from the Vatican!!!
Also of course A gift shop at Vatican Museum, as others have noted too, but look around, it's like anything else, you want to be sure about your purchase. I bought a red rosary for my older brother at the Vatican gift shop inside St. Peter's Square in that long row of buildings to the left of the Square after entering from the turnstiles. Also got a lovely wooden rosary case with a Madonna engraved on top, it was a music box as it played when the lid opened. The staffer who helped me put it all together in such a loving way it's one of my best memories.
