Vatican Garden & Museum Tours, planning time over 2 days

Good Morning,

I am looking for a little advice from those who have knowledge of the Vatican Gardens tour. Yes, yes, I just asked a question about the gardens at Castel Gandolfo, but now a new question re: the gardens actually at the Vatican:)

I am planning on spending time at the vatican museums, gardens etc spread over two different days. One one day, I have reserved an early entry (through Dark Rome Tours) for the Sistine Express. With this we will enter the sistine chapel at 7:30am and then be on our own the rest of the day. On another day, we have tickets for a 9:30am tour of the vatican gardens. This ticket also covers admission to the museums for after the gardens.

-Has anyone taken the Vatican Gardens tour? If so, where does the tour end? Did you have access into the museum, or have to go in the main entrance.
-Does anyone have any advice on how I should plan our time at the vatican, given that I am looking to split the time over 2 days?

Just to complicate things a little more, this will be taking place smack dab in the middle of Holy Week and the week after. We also have tickets to the Papal Audience on Wednesday and Easter mass at 10am on Sunday. I am not completely crazy, as we will be spending two weeks in Rome and this is not our first trip to the Eternal City:) Also, the tour days at the vatican are not back to back. (I might just be trying to reassure myself here, more than the reader!)

Any thoughts you might have are appreciated!

the gardens tour takes you back to the front of the museums so you basically start over again.

Perhaps you can plan certain rooms on certain days. I know the museums will be crowded so having two days to see them might be just enough time.

Sounds great. One caveat inside the Vatican Museums: stay away from the pizza in the cafeteria.

Thanks for the advice! And I will definitely avoid the pizza!
