Is the Vatican now allowing tours with independent tour operators to enter before the standard 8:30 ticket entry time? I thought they were suspended but received an email from a tour operator stating early entry was happening again.
I want to be sure so I’m not scrambling
to try to get tickets in case they’re just hoping it will reopen while taking bookings anyway.

Thanks for the link. It looks like you have to eat breakfast from 7:30-8:30 and then tour the museums and Sistine Chapel. The breakfast is what I was hoping had gone away. I’ll keep checking to see what changes before Sept.

You tour the Museums before you eat. You have a tour guide supplied by the Vatican. It appears the group size is capped at 15 people. The total cost is 52 euros per person--less if you qualify for a discount. I bet that's about half what an outside tour would charge you.
