Considering staying in a convent or monastery closest to Vatican City. Has anyone experienced or recommend places to consider.

Former Convent. Santa Maria Alle Fornachi; stayed there several times-5 minute walk to the Vatican, no phones, single iron beds, and good breakfast. Is a "go to" place for lots of teens for a Rome trip from school, however not crazy. Metro station Santa Pietro s right behind it. Books up really fast.

Have a local priest call the Pope, he might have some rooms available
