Vatican City on a Wednesday

I am heading to Rome this May, and recently found out that the day I had initially planned to do the Vatican is a Wednesday, which is the same day of the Papal Audience. I have read various contrasting reviews, some saying to absolutely avoid the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel on a Wednesday because the crowds are terrible, and others saying that while it is more crowded than other days, it isn't that bad and doesn't hinder your experience or create a situation where you miss seeing things.

Does anyone have experience with Vatican City on Wednesdays? For context, we will be there the last week of May.

Given that it is into high season by then, plus being Jubilee year, every day will be packed solid, so day of week isn't relevant unless you want to go into St Peters. It is closed on days of Papal audiences. But Vatican Museum will be open
