If exiting the Scavi tour at 12:30 into the basilica, how far is it to walk to the Vatican Cafeteria? Are the lines long to grab a bite to eat?
Thinking of getting Museum/S.Chapel tkts after lunch same day. What time would you suggest?

If you are talking about restaurants inside the museums you'll have to pay the entry fee to get into the museums first. These are the directions given by the Vatican on how to get to the restaurant. Note: you must be inside the museums: A restaurant with a self-service, pizzeria and coffee bar is located one floor down the Atrium of the Four Gates (Atrio dei Quattro Cancelli): go down the stairs near the Picture Gallery (Pinacoteca) or at the top of the escalators turn right and then follow the indications. If you are just getting entry tickets then I'd say an hour after lunchtime would be best. I don't know what time you like to eat lunch so it's hard to give a specific time. If you are booking a tour I think the last of the day is at 2 or 2:30 so you could do lunch right before that. Donna
