what is the Bramante Staircase in ROme? Michelle Campbell Valrico FL
From Wikipedia: The Bramante Staircase is a double helix staircase located in the Vatican Museums in the Vatican City State. A canopy located above provides the necessary light to illuminate the stairs. This stair is located at the end of the museum visit and this is compulsory for visitors to take those stairs to exit the museum.
It's basically that famous staircase you will probably recognize almost immediately once you see it. Do a quick Google search and the pictures will pop up. Note: If you take the secret door to exist the Sistine Chapel, you will miss it.
So is it not the stairs that Jesus had to climb on Holy Thursday?? I saw they have those stairs that were brought on from Israel// ???
Please see your other thread for an answer about the Scala Sancta. The Bramante Staircase is completely different, located inside the Vatican Museums on the opposite side of the city.
Thank you ROSE I understand the difference now I could not recall what those stairs were called.. Love Michelle
