We wanted to do a Vatican tour but there is no availablity on Viator for our dates and wanted to do a night tour. Would you recommend doing Vatican yourself with the rick Steve’s guide and do you have to buy admission tickets ahead of time ? Is it doable to do Vatican at night And does anyone have any recommendations

If you are thinking about an evening in the museum and the Sistine Chapel AND you're available on a Friday: I highly recommend the special they started running last year (I think). It's a 7 pm entrance, happy hour, cold supper buffet, concert and the museum and Chapel until 11 o'clock. Go to their website for details: museivaticani.va. I already got my ticket for late July!
