Vatican and St. Peter's same day

Hi,
Is it too much to do the Vatican and St Peter's/Dome in one day? Traveling in July. Earliest Vatican tickets we could get was 9:00 so I was thinking of St. Peter's after that.

Thanks!

I think most tourists visit the Vatican and St. Peter's in the same day.

We did a tour that included the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica, and it was not a full day tour.

Mind you, it depends how long you want to spend in the museums. It's not possible to see everything there in a day.

We did both same day, in reverse order from your plan, and it worked out great for us. From the Vatican, we went on to Trastevere and explored a bit before dinner. It was a good day!

We're using the Tour Guy for a 3-hour Vatican & St. Peter's tour, early morning next week. About 100 Euro per person. We've done it on our own and have been overwhelmed. This is with family who have never been and I'm looking forward to this.
