We are visiting in march and are looking for a smaller tour which will include Vatican and St. Peter’s. Preferably an earlier morning with private access
It is a bit overwhelming with all the sites and would love feedback for those who have had a good trip

If you're looking for a group and not a private guide, I was happy with Liv Tours. I only did the Museums and not the Basilica with them, but they do smaller groups than most other tour operators (6 people instead of 12-20).

Any early entry tour is never the only group in the Sistine Chapel.

Another vote for LivTours. I had a great experience with their early-morning Vatican and St. Peter's tour. While you won't have the place to yourselves, you can walk around freely in the galleries and admire the art at close range (virtually impossible with the crowds during regular hours). And I was actually able to sit down on the benches in the Sistine Chapel, which has never happened before.
