I bought 8:30am tickets to the vatican museum directly from the vatican site due to our budget. I want to climb the dome and went on that site and see that the tickets say timed entry and use the audio guide for 90 min prior to the dome climb. I am trying to figure out if I book a ticket around 12:30, do I visit the vatican museum and do I then have to leave and stand in line again for security to enter the basillica? Or should I do St. Peters on a different morning? Would I need to prebook a ticket if I want to be there at 7am? Just trying to figure out the timing and logistics. Thank you!

I also have tickets for the Vatican museum but at 8:00 am
I have tickets for St Peter's \same day (to climb the dome for 1:30pm
previously on the forum I asked a similar question... I was advised to leave the museum by 11: 00 am
so I can be on time ...hope this helps.

Thank you! I was nervous on the timing, so I actually booked tickets for early the next morning. Hope my plan works, and yours too!
