I just bought tickets for the Corridorio and no sooner found out that the walls are bare. All the portraits that hung on the walls have been removed. Still looking forward to the walk through regardless.
Rickrack, if they've followed through with the plan, not all of the walls will be bare.

Kathy,
Just read in today’s issue of the Florentine Weekly: “Returned to its original bareness, the Vasari Corridor will no longer be lined with portraits but can be experienced in line with its original purpose; to provide undisturbed passage to Florence’s ruling Medici family.
Yep, the details are a bit sketchy, aren't they?
Well, I'll also reference this piece from earlier this month along with some accompanying images and this text:
https://www.firenzemadeintuscany.com/en/article/corridor-vasarian-florence-information-useful/
"About 30 ancient sculptures remain to decorate the Vasarian, as well as a collection of Greek and Roman inscriptions. There is also a space dedicated to the 16th-century frescoes, created at the behest of Giorgio Vasari himself."
Whatever the case, I'm hoping some of the very first visitors provide some reviews of the experience! Let us know how it goes for you when it's your turn?
Well that is a bummer. I suspect the portraits are all in the Uffizi and staying there. I noticed that many of the Medici family portraits that used to be in the Octagonal gallery in the Uffizi are not in basement galleries. I suspect some of them once hung in the corridor. Hard to see how interesting the corridor will be without them.
