Vasari Corridor in Uffizi

My husband and I will be in Florence from 12 November until 17 November. 2016. We both want to see the Vasari Corridor in the Uffizi, which happens to be open during our stay. It is often not open , and when it is, only to groups. This part of the building is not included on regular tours of f the Uffizi.

The tour requires a Group minimum with Context Travel which is one of Rick's recommended companies. The tour is pricey, $250 per person, and we need 1 or 2 more people to make the minimum. I have never used Context Travel before but they seem highly rated and the Corridor must be done in a Group. If anyone is in Florence at our time period and wants to do the Corridor ,we are flexible on day and time. Context Travel has an easy to use website for sign ups.

Alternatively, does anyone have a recommendation for a Florence travel guide company who might do the Vasari Corridor? We are willing to do the tour in any language in order to get the group access.

I did the Vasari Corridor tour a little over a week ago through Viator as a combination with Pitti Palace. I believe there were about 15 of us and we were escorted by 2 guards. Apparently last summer Vasari Corridor was shut down because 1) it was too hot and people were reacting to the heat and 2) the fire department said no more tours because there were no fire exits. As best I can tell, the guards are the fire escape compensation. We also received a safety briefing once inside the corridor.
Our tour guide was very good although groups are only allowed a specified period of time in the corridor - I think that is standard, regardless of the group size. Nevertheless, it did not feel extraordinarily rushed and she pointed out portraits for any requests of particular artists as well as highlighting some of the iconic artists. An incentive for doing the tour now is that there is talk of the paintings being removed and the corridor being opened up for transit between the Uffizi and Pitti Palace.

Context Travel is very good but if you want another option, Viator was also good.
