I currently have reservations in Varenna and was wondering if staying in Mennagio would be better in regards to mobility to other areas for day trips. Any suggestions?

I currently have reservations in Varenna and was wondering if staying in Mennagio would be better in regards to mobility to other areas for day trips. Any suggestions?
Both have ferry access around the lake to other villages. Varenna has the train station. Mennagio has bus connections. Depends on where you want to go as day trips.
