Vaporetto pass validation

I plan to buy a 72-hour vaporetto pass. When I validate the pass for the first time, is that validation good for the entire 72 hours? Or will I need to validate the pass each and every time I board a vaporetto? I'm assuming it's each and every time.

Thanks.

Each and every time. There is a scanner on the entrance to the dock.

I figured that was the case but am glad to have confirmation. Thank you!

Our six-year-old granddaughter loved "beeping" her vaporetto pass on the machines and was the only one of us that was pleased when we all beeped ourselves, realized we'd made a mistake, exited and went to the correct vaporetto, and got to BEEP AGAIN.

You might know this already, but it is very convenient sometimes to use the pass to take a vaporetto one stop just to cross the Grand Canal where there is no bridge (i.e. along MOST of the Grand Canal!).

Or take a traghetto. But only if your balance is good. : )

Double beeps in the space of a couple of minutes? Your granddaughter must have been giddy!

I do know about the traghettos. Unfortunately, Balance and I haven't been on good terms for a few decades now, and Gravity regularly bullies me! :D

You don't have to stand on the traghetto, it's just cool and showing off that you an old Venice hand. I sat.
