Vaporetto multi day passes

Do they cover water taxis? I need to get to train station by 845 this sunday morn and to wherever one picks up rental car by 815 next tuesday mornin. Does a vaporetto make sense?

No, the water taxis and vaporetti are not associated. There are vaporetto stops in front of the Santa Lucia train station ('Ferrovia') and the Piazzale Roma, which is the only place in Venice to pick up a rental car. The vaporetti start their regular schedule ~5:00 a.m. and come every 10-12 minutes. Where are you staying in Venice?

The vaporetti start around 5 am, and there is even one that runs all night, so getting to the train station by 8:45 should not be a problem.

You should be able to get to your destinations on time just using the vaporetto. MUCH less expensive than a water taxi.

It really is close to the Hotel Ala to and from the vaporetto dock.

The number 1 (as you will soon find out, unless you have already arrived in which case you have already discovered) runs every 12 minutes all day, regular as clockwork.

The correct name of the stop is Santa Maria del Giglio, named after the beautiful church just outside the front door of the hotel.

The vaporetto is scheduled to take 36 minutes to Ferrovia (is your train at 8:45 or is that when you want to get there so you have 20 minutes or so to find your train and quietly get aboard?) and 3 minutes more P Roma.

Even if you decided to spend the unnecessary €80 or so for a water taxi, because boats on the Grand Canal are limited in the speed that they can go (except ambulance boats, fire boats, and police launches on urgent official business) the taxi will only save you a few minutes compared to the Vaporetto.

You should be able to have a few bites of the very good Hotel Ala breakfast before you set out.

Get down early because the choices are many in that breakfast room.
