Line 2 is supposed to be the fastest route down the Grand Canal to Saint Mark's Square (San Zaccaria stop) from the Santa Lucia rail station . My question is that outside the railway station there are several piers from which the vaporettos depart - A B C D and E. Which pier does Line 2 go to San Zaccaria stop??? Thank you for your assistance.

Just look for the sign showing Line 2 (toward San Marco) which is usually Dock B

The No 2 boat goes down the Grand Canal only between 9:22 am and 7:46 pm and it only goes as far as San Marco Giardinetta. It goes from Ferrovia "B". If you want to go to San Zaccaria, you go the opposite way from Ferrovia "A" and it goes through the Giudecca Canal, and it takes 45 minutes, only 1 minute faster than using the No 1 boat down the Grand Canal from Ferrovia "E".

A tip for using the vaporetto: You also have to pay attention to which SIDE of the dock you go to. For example, Line 2 may stop at Dock B, but there may be two entrances to Dock B. In my experience, the boat going to the RIGHT stops at the dock on the LEFT, and vice versa. This is helpful when you are in the middle of the vaporetto line, and know by looking at your map that you need to head to the right.
I highly recommend the Che Bateo? App. The train station stop is Ferrovia.

Just note.
That app for vaporetto planning is Chebateo? I.e. all one word with the question mark. It is most useful, used it a couple of times yesterday.
