I have not seen this on any of the hotel sites. Is the Value Added Tax included in the price of the room or will that be an additional charge when we check out?
I can not vouch for the accuracy of the statement, but several hotel people and retailers have told me that any advertised prices in Europe must include the VAT. I have seen it broken out on the bill, but the total always matched the agreed upon rate.
Thanks for the info. I was getting a little worried that we may be hit with a 10 or 20% hit at each hotel.

Nah, only here :D (though in Barcelona the tax wasn't included in the price, that's the only place in 7 countries in Europe, including Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands I encountered that, and it was CLEARLY stated beforehand on the hotel's website)
Historically all taxes included in the stated number. Just recently have encountered some type of tourist tax for 1 or 2 Euros in the Netherlands and Belgium.
