Valley of the Temples Archeological Site and Museum

Does anyone know if the combined ticket for the above is good for more than 1 day, i.e. see the ruins one day and the museum the next day? It is cheaper to buy the combined tkt versus buying them separately. 13.50 Euros for a combined tkt versus 10 and 8 Euros separately. Couldn't find anything on their website.

Believe it’s the same day, but I didn’t pay much attention when I recently visited since we only saw the temples. Walking to the temples from our B&B, then walking to all the temples and back to the B&B only took 3 hours. That was taking our time and included a stop for a soda. Doing both the same day shouldn’t be a problem unless you just want to do it in two.

I agree that the ruins don't take that long to see; even at a slow pace, a half day should be fully sufficient. So, you should be able to see both sites in the same day.

Janet,

I only visited the Valley of the Temples when I was in Agrigento and loved it!
Make sure you wear sunscreen and take some water with you.

I don’t know why, but I was not in the mood to visit the museum, so I visited many of the churches instead.

Anyway, to answer your question...

I was curious, so I called the ticket seller, Coopculture, this morning, and was informed that the combined ticket is only good for the same day.

Make sure you try the deliciously creamy gelato at Pasticceria Gelateria Le Cuspidi on Piazza Cavour, 19. 🍦

Enjoy your time in beautiful Sicily! 🌞

A couple of years ago we went to the temples and enjoyed it very much. As another poster said, a hat and water are very important as it is a very open site, and I don't believe any water was sold within the site. We also visited the museum on the same day, after the temples, and found that interesting, though not too extensive. Buon viaggio.

Thank you all for your responses! Priscilla, I have taken notes in my L.P. book on the gelateria!

+1 on le Cuspidi. You must try the pistacchio gelato. It's made with Bronte pistachios grown on the flanks of Etna. We made a special trip to Bronte during our last Sicily visit just to buy the paste to make our own. Go in the evening if the weather is nice and hang out with the locals in the neighborhood piazza adjacent.

My wife and I enjoyed the museum before going out to the ruins. You can do both easily in a day.

For dinner, if it's convenient, try Ruga Reali. Very good food reasonably priced in a relaxed atmosphere. And a half carafe of house wine is €4.

Thank you Bob for the gelato suggestion! We were in Agrigento this past sat/night. Stayed at a b&b walking distance from the museum. Hit the ruins saturday (beautiful blue sky day, amazing photos) and the museum for a short time on Sunday. Was free 1st Sunday of month. Didn't spend alot of time at museum but there were amazing ceramic vases and saw the original telamon and Ephebe statue. Didnt see anything in town of Agrigento so missed the gelato. After the ruins, Sat eve we drove to Scala dei Turche. Beautiful!! Walked up the "steps" and saw the sunset. Sunday we were onward to Piazza Armerina for 2 nights. In Ragusa now.
