I'm looking for vacation rental recommendations in Italy during this May. I'd prefer to stay in small towns in Tuscany or close to the sea. I'm looking for a small house or an appartment or even two rooms in a house with kitchen for 3 people. Although there are many websites with multiple listings, i'm looking for travelers' recommendations from their own experiences.
Thanks in advance!

My favorite is Il Palagio (www.infochianti.com) a great villa just outside the charming village of Panzano. Panzano is a little hill town exactly between Florence and Siena on the S222 (the Chianti Road). It has a great wine bar (Enoteca Baldi) fine restaurants and Italy's most famous butcher (Dario Cecchini).
The villa is very well maintained and comfortable. The owner Monia speaks English and is quite helpful. The grounds are beautiful and going in May you will love the pool. Have fun.
Many posters will suggest www.vrbo.com. Here are my 3 suggestions:
http://www.sanminiatoaltedesco.com/home_e.htm, www.initaly.com and take the time to look on this websites Graffiti wall. At tad outdated since the creation of the Traveler's Helpline but you'll still get good suggestions.
Try www.vrbo.com. We had a family reunion the summer of 2007 and stayed at a villa near Lucca. it was wonderful.
I know the owner of a beautiful place in Umbria, www.vecchiacasa.com I'm not sure if it sleeps 3 though (it is usually rented for two) - you could certainly ask though. The owner is British and lives onsite.
