Using ticket kiosks for seat reservations

Ciao! I have a Eurail Italy pass, so I do not need to buy train tickets. However, I am planning on taking a couple of high speed trains. In the past, I have just waited in line and bought them at the counters, but I read that you can buy seat reservations at the kiosks (and hopefully save time by doing so). Has anyone done this, and if so, how does it work? (I just looked at the Ron in Rome website and he details how to use the new ticket kiosks, but the welcome screen only has "buy ticket" options and I don't need a ticket. I only need seat reservations.) I think I may choose the "global pass" option, because it seems to only show the price of the seat reservation, but I don't have a global pass so I am not sure if I should do that. Thank you for the help!

Ha. I looked at my past seat reservations and they all say "Global Pass" at the top... well there we go. Maybe this will help someone else in the future.
