Does anyone know the approximate cost with theMYTAXI app fro airport to center of Rome? I was told it is considerably cheaper than a car service. Also can you reserve a taxi for a specific time?

The app has been updated and is now called FreeNow. But, really no need to use it from FCO. If you are staying within the walls of Rome the fare is fixed at 48 Euros. Proceed to the taxi rank. Fight off the people who come up to you offering a taxi before you get in line -they will rip you off. Look for the official Rome taxi’s which are white. The fixed fare is painted on the side of the cab. The line moves quickly. No tip necessary.

There is no need to fight limo drivers off or to think they rip everybody off. Tell those approaching you that you'll be happy to use their services from FCO to central Rome... for 47 €.
