Hi. I'm joining the Village Italy tour in September, and wondering if the buses have USB charging ports at the seats. Since there's a lot of bus time, I thought it might be easier to charge phones and devices on the bus rather than bothering with adapters and chargers for the hotel rooms. Anyone here have recent experience on Rick's tour buses (esp. the Village Italy tour in case the answer might vary by region). Grazie !
BoEngland 2019. All seats had USB ports; none worked. Will depend on the charter bus company (not RS per se), but I wouldn't count on them working; then you can be pleasantly surprised if they do! Bring a charged up portable battery if you really need to recharge during bus time. Absolutely bring adapters/chargers for hotel charging! Multi country adapters often include multiple USB ports as well.
Nope, we did not.
we did not on the Rome tour. Like mentioned earlier, I would bring a fully charged portable battery or two.
My Village Italy coach in 2017 had a center area above the loo that had 3 or 4 usb plugs for everyone to share.
I bring my own backup battery.
Backup battery is the way to go. Also allows you to recharge when walking around the town.
The tours busses vary, different companies are used in different areas. USB ports aren't always available. I bring along a power bank.
Some of the coach firms used by RS tours will be using vehicles that may be a few years old, and they won't always have all the modern amenities. As the others have said, a portable power pack would be a good idea if you're concerned about batteries going flat. I normally plan to charge in hotels at night, as not all of my gadgets are USB. My cameras use proprietary chargers.
Thanks all for the replies. Clear consensus not to reply on USB charging on the buses!
Currently on Best of Switzerland and each bus seat has USB plug. But didn’t have them on bus for May 2023 Portugal tour.
