We will be going to Verona via Munich. Leaving the US on a Lufthansa flight to Munich then transferring to Air Dolomiti (same ticket) to Verona. Other than going through immigration in Munich does anyone know if I will also need to go through customs there or in Verona?

Customs is a non-issue unless you have something to declare, such as more than $10K in cash. Your checked luggage should be checked through to Verona, the whole route booked on this ticket.

You will go through customs in Verona, but unless you are "randomly selected for additional screening," it's just a matter of walking through the "Green Channel - Nothing To Declare" line.

Don,
As Munich will be your first entry into the E.U., you'll have to go through Passport control in Munich. As you'll be changing planes, I suspect you'll have to go through security prior to boarding your Air Dolomiti flight.
