US Friend has Covid in Rome. What's next??

A dear dear friend who I have traveled with to Italy three times just texted me this morning that he tested positive for Covid on the morning before he was to fly home (today!). Although he is triple-vaxxed and wore a mask everywhere, he picked up the bug somewhere! He is now quarantining at his hotel in Rome and says that the staff have been quite helpful. I am sending him lots of info re. US and Italian requirements for his isolation and eventual ability to fly home. I really need help though in two directions: 1) Does anyone know the CURRENT Italian regulation about how long he will need to quarantine? (All I can find thus far is from August 2021.) 7 days? 10 days? 14 days?
2) Do you know of a physician in Rome (he is staying near Termini) who he can see after that time period in order to get the requisite document stating that he is recovered from Covid and cleared to fly?
Many, many thanks for this and any other advice you can share!

His hotel should be able to recommend an English speaking doctor.

When we have become ill while traveling in Europe the hotel ,of if renting an apt the landlord or rental agent, all got us English speaking doctors who made house calls. If he wants to go to a hospital, he should choose a private one if possible..

Thank you, Aimee, Suki, and gerri! I am continuing to text with my dear friend and he asked me to relay his appreciation for your suggestions and advice. Hopefully he will be in contact with an English speaking doctor within the next several days. He has no symptoms.... just that nasty positive test! Hopefully he can test negative within a week or so and can then wing on homewards!
