Please do let me know if anybody has stayed at this B&B and the experience. We are looking for a hotel/ B&B in Rome for a single night from Sept 23rd-24th in the range of $100-$125/night. Any tips will be much appreciated.
We just returned from a stay at Hotel Italia on Via Venezia in Rome (see Rick Steve's Rome 2007 book). The prices change with the season so I don't know what you would pay in Sept. Our rate was 94 euro for a double room with a/c paid in cash. Also, I mentioned Rick Steve's when I booked. Without a/c the room is 84 euro but there is no fan and the street noise prevented opening the window. I suppose in Sept you might be able to open the window for air and wear earplugs! The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was good. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Good luck!
I also stayed at Hotel Italia in late April this year and paid 90 Euro for a single room with breakfast. They did offer a 10% discount if you paid cash. There was a 10 Euro per day extra fee for airconditioning.
I will be returning to Hotel Italia in December and the single room will cost 60 Euro (off season rate).
