We leave for Italy next week (arriving Rome mid-day on October 18th and flying home from Naples on October 28th). 5 days/nights are in Rome and 5 are in Sorrento/Naples (3 nights in Sorrento, 2 in Naples). We’ve been to Rome twice before and never to Sorrento/Amalfi/Naples, so looking to do things we haven't done on previous trips. We feel comfortable in Rome and are not looking to fill every second with a tour, plus we are spending time with our studying abroad child. Here’s what we have cobbled together so far:
Rome:
Galleria Borghese
Tivoli
Roman Catacombs? (a suggestion from a friend but I’m not sure)
Food Tour
Sorrento/Amalfi/Naples:
Amalfi Coast tour with private driver/guide, spending time in Positano, Amalfi and Ravello
Pompeii/Herculaneum with private driver/guide when we leave for Naples from Sorrento
Archeological Museum
St. Elmo/Nuevo Castles
Thoughts? Are we missing some ‘must see/do’ experience?
