Up all night in Verona

My husband and I are ending our two week stay in Italy by spending the last afternoon/night in Verona and then flying out at 6AM the following day (end of this month). Since a 6AM international flight means getting to the airport no later than 4AM, we just don't see the point of getting a hotel for the night. We're night owls, and it would mean spending money on a hotel for three hours of sleep.

So, how would one spend a late Saturday night in Verona? Is this feasible? Or is everything closed? We're thinking about heading to the airport by 2AM to catch a few hours of sleep before the flight.

Also, where would you suggest storing luggage? The train station baggage check closes at 11PM. Do we check it there, then lug it to a bar before catching a cab to the airport? Do hotels let you pay to check luggage even if you're not staying there?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
