Kind of a random question, but I’m not having much luck with Google. Any idea how to figure out where/which building housed the med school in the mid-1930s?
Thank you! I wasn’t able to find it here, but should be able to get a contact email from the site to reach out to and ask. Appreciate it!
In 1288 it was at the Santa Maria Nuova Hospital (the hospital near the Duomo which still functions today, one of the oldest hospitals in the world). Then starting in 1908 the Santa Maria hospital acquired land in the Careggi area and slowly built more and more clinics there. By the late 1920s the main Medical campus of the Florence School of Medicine is there at the Careggi Medical Centers.
Thank you, Roberto! My grandfather graduated from medical school there after fleeing Nazi Germany, so would love to be able to see it and walk the same halls he might have. Really appreciate your help!
