Unique place to stay near Bologna, Parma, Modena for two adults in April?

I would do a search for country houses near Modena or Parma. Then you could see pictures and read reviews. I have only stayed with the historic areas of Bologna and Parma, without a car.

Depends what you mean for "fun". If you like clubbing probably stay in the center of Bologna could be better. Or maybe the Rimini area, where there are a lor of clubs.
In general towns and villages in Emilia aren't touristy at all, so during the week are quite places.
April could be even cold and sometimes rainy (even if in the last years is more rainy May).

Sorry, maybe fun was the wrong word. NOT clubbing at all. More on the unique, original, special for the area, creative, memorable...that kind of thing. We stayed in a transparent dome in Ireland, for example.
