Unexpected Taxi Prices in Naples?

Hi all, I'll be traveling near Naples soon and plan to eat dinner at a restaurant that's out in the suburbs quite a way (Brusciano), and while the line 8 train works great to get out there, the last train is around 8pm. So in order to get back to Napoli Centrale for a train, I think we'll need to take a taxi. The restaurant offers to arrange a (needlessly luxury) taxi for 70 euros. When I emailed a Naples taxi company they estimated 50 euros for Napoli Centrale to Brusciano, not including waiting time. So my question is, how realistic is it to call a taxi myself from Brusciano, and how realistic is it to expect to actually pay 50 euro?. I know in some places it's easy to get upcharged in taxis or stumble upon cleverly hidden fees. It'd be nice to save 20 euros, so I'm trying to find out how much of a hassle/risk arranging it myself versus having the restaurant do it is. Want to avoid getting stuck in the suburbs at 10pm! Thanks in advance!

Just think of the extra 20 euro for the restaurant arranged taxi as the tip you won't be leaving for the meal, so it comes out even.

Agree with Joe. Once you get over sticker shock, you'll see it's not worth the hassle to see if you can even get a taxi in the boonies at night and if it will show up. You won't enjoy your meal as much if this is in the back of your mind.

This is beyond my experience in Naples, but does the Flat Rate Sheet apply to this location? Certainly our airport cab improperly tried to get luggage fees prohibited by the Sheet, but that's Naples. OTOH, a long empty pickup deserves compensation. This is not your trip home from the bar in an Uber. I'm surprised that a fine restaurant doesn't "have your back".
