Understanding the Firenze card questions

Hi,

I'll be in Florence in September for 4 nights. I've looked at my itinerary and priced the museums, etc. I want to see and I have a few questions on the Firenze card if anyone could help clarify?

  1. I added up my museum admissions and it came to either $119 or $110 depending on if I would add in the Medici chapel. The Firenze card is 85 Euro ($92), correct?

  2. If I understand correctly, I can add for FREE an additional 48 hours onto the original 72 hours on the card for a total of 5 days?

  3. I have to reserve a time slot for the Uffizi and Bargello prior to my trip by phone?

  4. The other museums on my itinerary that need a reservation have a special line for Firenze card holders that allows them to not have a reserved time slot (Brancacci Chapel)?

  5. The Firenze does NOT include the Duomo, I need a separate pass for that (Brunelleschi pass)?

  6. Am I missing anything pertinent or need correction to my understanding on anything?

  7. Are there any other pros/bonuses to buying the Firenze card other than money saving?

My itinerary includes:

Day 1 Monday
Brancacci Chapel $14
Basilica di Santo Spirito $2.00
Santa Felicita
San Giorgio alla Costa church

Day 2 Sunday

Bargello $8.50
Palazzo Davanzati $2.00
Galileo museum $14
Cemetery San Miniato
Mass and chant San Miniato

Day 3 Monday

English Cemetery, Florence

Basilica of Santissima Annunziata
San Marco museum $8.50
Duomo Cathedral ($32 Brunelleschi pass)
Duomo Santa Reparata

Duomo Museum
Orsanmichele church & museum $9.00
Chiesa di San Salvatore in Ognissanti $2.00
Duomo Dome

Day 4 Tuesday

Duomo Bell Tower
Duomo Baptistry
Santa Maria Novella $8.00
Leather school
Santa Croce $14 w/audio guide
Uffizi museum evening $27

Thank you :)

I haven't used the card but reading about it just now:

The 48 hours are free through the rest of 2024.

The Uffizi and Accademia need the reservations, the Bargello does not. I would reserve by phone prior to your departure.

Not sure about a special line, but for the Brancacci you need to reserve but I didn't see where they say how to reserve. From my experience there's no line there so i wouldn't worry about it, just go.

The card does not include the Duomo and related sites.

A Con about the card is that who knows how long this phone call to reserve will take and how much it will cost you.

I was just researching this as well, seems like you’ve got the right ideas for the most part. I did try to book my reservations for Uffizi and Accademia over the phone, but it didn’t work for me - the automated answering kept hanging up on me! So I ended up just reserving online and paid the extra €4 per reservation. Just easier for me and I figured I’d have to pay for the phone call anyways. From what I can tell, Bargello does not require reservations.

Thanks for your replies!

Concerning the Brancacci , it seems like whenever I've checked for tickets (opened on the 18th of the month prior to your visit), I never see any available. Since they only allow 10 people in at set times and days, do they usually sell out?

How would that work with the Firenze card and getting a ticket?

Can I be assured of getting a ticket to say the Uffizi on the day and time of my choice? Or is that a gamble?
