We had the pleasure of working with Rachel and Pip at Through Eternity Tours (http://www.througheternity.com/) so that our small group could experience part of the underground of ancient Rome. They set up a tour for 6 of us on very short notice and delivered what they promised: an English-speaking, knowledgeable guide to the ancient and medieval ruins under two churches. The cost was very reasonable, the guide was a Dutch art/architecture historian who was charming as well as smart and accomodating, and we saw bones in the carved marble sarcophagai! As well as walls and mosaics and marble floor slabs and stories about who was down there at one time. At the end, Mario recommended a buffet lunch that was delicious, plentiful and cheap.
We recommend them without reservation.
