When I purchase a ticket for the Underground/third ring tour through the Coopculture website, does that include the entrance ticket to the Colosseum/Forum/Palatine? Or do i need to book that separately? I am not using Roma Pass. Also, any opinions about this tour? Thanks.

No, it doesn't include the entrance ticket. I believe it can also be bought separately online. I purchased our tickets at the Colosseum as I was travelling with my children who were free and needed an entry ticket that could only be picked up at the Colosseum or Forum/Palantine. Our tour was at 9;40 on a Saturday in August, we arrived at about 8:30 waited in a short line, picked up our tickets where I could purchase my admission ticket and free chidrens' tickets, left got breakfast and came back just before 9:30. We all really enjoyed the tour, our guide was Paola, she did a great job and we felt it was most definitely worth the time and money. It was VERY crowded and hot by the time our tour finished just after 11 so I was glad that we went early.

I'm pretty sure it does include the Forum and Palatine Hill. I did the underground tour only last month and the Forum and Palatine Hill immediately after. I am pretty sure I did not have to buy another ticket for the forum. I'd have replied with some certainty, but the comment above has me wondering if my memory is flawed. We really enjoyed the Collosseum underground tour. Plan on getting there at least a half hour early as there is still a line to "skip the line" at least in July. Maybe you won't need as much time in the Fall.

I checked my tickets, I purchased a 3rd ring/underground ticket online through Coopculture but did have to buy an entrance ticket separately to the Colosseum for admittance. This ticket is good for 2 consecutive days and also includes entrance to the Forum/Palantine- 1 admittance to each only. Maybe this is the confusing part...

Yes buy the separate entrance ticket on line. It includes Forum etc. valid for two days. If you leave it to but entrance ticket there it is a longer queue.

Don't forget - you can get entrance tickets at the nearby but generally much less busy Forum entrance...

I just want to thank all of you for your help. I found this thread last night and we were able to go to the web site, purchase the Coliseum/Forum/Palantine entrance as well as the Underground/Third Ring tour. I would not have known all of this without your help! We will be in Rome on Oct 8th. There were not many spots left for this tour but we were able to score tickets for a tour!

Tour tickets do NOT include anything other than entry for the tour. You must buy separate entry tickets in order to enter the colosseum to get onto the tour. The colosseum entry ticket allows you entry into the forum/palatine hill site as well. You can enter each site one time (forum and palatine hill are a single site) and you can do this over two consecutive days, so if you don't have the energy to do them on the same day you can come back the next day to complete the visit.
