Undeciede between Paris or Milan back to america??

Hi, I'm going to book a trip using my reward miles from an airline in which I have the option to come back from either Milan or Paris back to the US.

We'll go on august 26 and come back Sept 9. The first week we'll to to London (3 days)- Paris(3days) and the second week we'll go around Italy. (Venice, Rome,etc) Since buying a round trip ticket from Paris to any place in Italy is cheaper than buying one way, I'm clueless if it would be easier to just end up in Milan back to America or go back to Paris back to America. Any suggestions or past experiences are appreciated.

The trip back to Paris can be a long one and expensive if you are going by train. Worked our way back to Paris on our trips since we loved Paris so much, but Milan is a very popular airport to use as well. Milan can also be relatively inexpensive hotel-wise since summer is a low time for conventions in the city.

Or You could go London - Italy - then Paris and return from there...

To me it doesn't maske sense to double back to Paris just to fly back to the States, so if you stay with your London-Paris-Italy agenda I would fly out of Milan. It's easy to get by train from anywhere in Italy and MXP is an efficient, though not attractive, airport. Book the Last Supper in the late afternoon and see an opera that evening at Teatro alla Scala on your last day in Italy!
