unable to connect with Italy using phone

First, the email for a lodging in Venice listed in the latest Italy book does not work. I don't know how to inform Rick's staff;
hence, I've tried phoning, using the directions online and from my cell company. No dice.
Any ideas are appreciated.
How to contact them?
Thanks.

What is the name of the lodging? It would be easier to help if we knew that.

What is the name of the place?
Email and telephone are the only means of communication I can think of, unless one walks by the place.

There is always the possibility that they are closed.

Indeed, have you tried to find this place online? If there, check their listed contact info. If unable to find online then they are likely defunct. Places have gone out of business since publication.

The lodging I am seeking is Alloggi Barberia.
I’ll try online. I wanted to follow Ricks advice and contact directly. Thx.

https://www.alloggibarbaria.it/

The website lists their landline number, fax and email.
If you call from your land line you must precede the number by 011. So the number to dial from your land line will start 011 39 041 xxx xxxx, where the 39 is Italy area code and 041 is the Venice area code. If you use your cell phone you can replace the 011 with the plus, however using your land line long distance provider is probably cheaper.

If they are not defunct, they are certainly open (and very busy) this month, since we are in the middle of Carnevale (which ends on February 21, Martedì Grasso, i.e. Mardi Gras), by far the busiest time in Venice. They are 6 hours ahead of Eastern Standard time, so try to call them at a time when you might expect they are not too busy at the desk, as this place appears to be a mom and pop operation. These places are very busy in the morning before noon (breakfast time and check out time, and again at check in time in the afternoon. They probably have minimal service at the desk, if any, at night.

I appreciate all the replies. That said, the email address listed on the website for this hotel does not work now.
Tomorrow I will try calling them again and hope for a connection. I'll also try contacting the info for Rick. So glad to have that!
It seems very hard to find an 'affordable' room in Venice with twin beds in June. I'll keep trying. If anyone knows of something ...as there isn't much listed in Rick's book in the Venice section (only two with $$ prices) please let me know.

The website address Roberto posted works fine. Not sure they have rooms with 2 twins, but they are open and accepting reservations.

Yes, the website may ‘work’.., as on showing up. But the gmail doesn’t work … after many attempts,

If you are looking for an affordable B&B with twin beds, you might like Corte Campana. I stayed there for four nights in September. Small, quaint, quiet, close to everything.

the email for a lodging in Venice listed in the latest Italy book does
not work.

Do you think the email is not working because you click on the email address from the website and nothing happens? Did you try to copy and paste the email address into a new email? I am showing it is a valid email address.

Try to copy this and paste into a new email:

You can book right on the website itself—-that is “booking direct” and more secure than booking by email.are the emails bouncing back as undelivered, or are they just not answering? Their calendar shows they are pretty well booked up for many dates, so that may be the reason they don’t answer. But the online booking form will show you when they have rooms available.

The email address posted by Carrie works fine. I just tried it.

I typed it into my email addressee like I would if I were composing an email to someone whose email I did not already have. And it came back undeliverable. Several times. Thanks for your continuing help with this. I’ll try the book icon that you describe.

Finally got through. I may be having old PC problems. However, the one room remaining is non-refundable which worries me.
thanks to all for your help. I'll keep looking. Perhaps a call to Rick will help.

Have you searched on booking.com?

You can set the filters for price, #beds, location , amenities like air conditioning etc

A good number of European hotels that list “double bed” are actually 2 twins pushed together with separate bedding
Look closely at the pictures

Read the reviews and you can filter those as well
The reviews can only be left by folks who have actually stayed at the property so you can trust them

You can safely book on booking.com or once you’ve found a place go to their website

You might try Hotel Abbazia, close to train station and usually affordable

I doubt Rick will take your call

Found something that works and is cancellable on Booking.com.
Thanks again! Of course I didn't mean Rick personally!! we've not even met!! But I did get a couple of phone #, presumably to reach staff. I've booked Hotel Al Piave. It checks the boxes, a bit higher than I wanted but it will do.

hey hey susanimai
check out:
cabadoer-veniceflat.it
fill out the availability form. we stayed in the west studio and had 2 twin beds with a tiny elevator in the san polo area. we really liked this place and the couple that own it are great. also ask about the east studio and attic apartment. 2 day minimum.
albergomarin.com
some rooms can have 2 single beds, you have to tell them

I know you have already found something else, but I just want to confirm that the email address for Alloggi Barberia linked by Carrie above does work, and they respond promptly. So if that is the contact in the RS book, no need to report it as wrong, because it is not.

Must have been a problem with your computer.
