Has anyone stayed in the Relais II Canalicchio castle that's about 50 minutes from Umbria? Any recommendations for hotels?

I haven't stayed there, but it's located in a central location to visit many interesting cities in Umbria, which would require a car. Realis il Cabalicchio is a hotel, so I'm confused by your question about hotel recommendations. Btw, Umbria is a region so you must mean it's about 50 minutes from a city such as Perugia or Ovieto.

We stayed at a hotel/resort/spa called Le Tres Vaselle in Torgiano. I highly recommend it. The restaurant is very good. Order something with truffles. The town of Torgiano doesn't have much; but, the hotel has parking and it is easy to drive to all the neat places in Umbria.
