Ulisse Delux Hostel in Sorrento, Travel in December

Myself and two of my sisters will be in Rome on December 8th, 2013 and would like to take the train to Naples and connect to Sorrento to use that as a home base for 3 to 4 nights. As many hotels are closed during that timeframe, we have found the Ulisse Delux Hostel that was reccommended. Does anyone have any recent experiences at the Ulisse as they have been lovely to deal with via email and the reviews appear good. Kathy

My wife and I just spent a couple of nights there last month. Rooms were clean and of more than adequate size. Bathroom is larger than most we have found in Italy and even had a bathtub. Shower spray was a little weird in that it went all over the place. Our room had a great view of a wall, but we did not go there for a view. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, but the coffee and juices were out of one of those multi-dispensing machines. Also had the usual pastries and cold-cuts. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. In-room WiFi was a hit or miss deal while we were there. The center of town is in easy walking distance. So is the Marina Grande where there is a great restaurant (Ristorante Bagni Delfino, Via Marina Grande, 216 Sorrento) rated #2 by tripadvisor as well as being recommended by Rick Steves (get the seafood risotto if available). While we were there some back-packers were turned away because they were totally booked for the next couple of days, but December should not be a problem.

I stayed at the Ulisse in September 2011 in a private double room. It was very nice, large room and bathroom. The Ulisse staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend it without reservation (well, you might want to make a reservation). Have a great trip.
