I am travelling from London via flight to Florence. I already have my UK visa and I was wondering if I also need the same thing for Italy. I am travelling in mid February.
If you have a US passport, you don't need anything else (yet) for Italy. https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en
It depends what passport you have but if USA then you don’t need a visa (usually) for the UK which suggests you are not carrying a US passport.
Based on OP's other posts, he/she is a US citizen.
The 'UK visa' reference is likely to the UK ETA program.
That being the case, and assuming you will not exceed 90 days in Italy ( or other Schengen countries combined), all you need is a valid US passport.
