Would I look totally out of place wearing these in Italy? They are so comfortable!
Yes.
Your UGG boots would be fine as long as you're comfortable walking long distances in them--do they provide enough support? I think they look cool and would look good anywhere--especially if it's cold!
My dd has UGGs,, and they are fine for cool dry weather,, but ,, when exactly are you going?
I do wonder how comfy they are for walking for hours though,, and I mean hours.. slippers are comfy,, but not to wear for hours walking.
Wear them! It looks like 2006 here in Italy with all the young women wearing Ugg boots and skinny jeans (certain trends come later to Italy.) You'll fit right it.
Italians pride themselves on their fine leather footwear. You would look odd. There is a reason they are called UGGs. Besides, they take up way too much space in your luggage. No, please don't take them to Italy.
When are you going? I took my Uggs (wore them on the plane) last winter. We were primarily in Paris. I was more concerned with warmth and comfort than fashion. I wore my pants over the boots. They just looked like black shoes. I say wear them if you want.
You see a lot of UGGs here in Florence, but you pretty much know when you do they are being worn by American students...
I repeat: THEY ARE IN THIS SEASON IN ITALY. WEAR THEM.
Oh...please! Wear what you feel comfortable wearing. Trying to fit in just doesn't happen. Your clothing, no matter where you bought it labels you as "not from Italy". You are only there on holiday, so enjoy yourself, stop worrying. Go enjoy the beauty of Italy, the warm people, the fantastic food!
Why care about what you are wearing on your feet or your body, or carrying (daypack?) if it works for YOU on holiday, just do it!
The people that see you might actually think UGGS are cool and want some - maybe you will start a trend?
Hey, if my hubby wanted to fit in, he'd be wearing some funky vest with tons of pockets, or ORANGE pants- that's what the Italian (50's +) men were wearing when we were there in May - and my hubby certainly would not be caught dead wearing that in the US!
Yes I must also update my answer - they are everywhere - and Italians are wearing them also. The work boot as fashion also seems popular this winter... UGG! :)
Cool. All I wear are work boots. I should expedite my next trip to Italy. ;)
I love my Uggs. Wear them all the time. But, beware, they might not be what you want when covering long distances. Arch support - maybe you are young enough that it might not be an issue. Be comfortable - that's the important thing.
