Uffizi tickets....help!

I am trying to purchase Uffize tickets on line, thinking that ( from reading Rick's books) the tickets should be around 6.50 euros each....but I'm quoted a total price for 2 of 45. euros. Is this correct, if not where do I find the cheaper tickets? I am going back and forth about buying the Firenza card, and this may now be the determing factor.

Where online are you looking? I paid less than that through a broker online (long story, but time is money, too). If that is the price you are finding on the official website, it could be that there is a special exhibition on the date you requested, but I don't think it would raise the price to 22.5 euro each.

The Firenze Card is 50 euro per person, but special exhibitions are included in the price. If you are in Florence for at least three days and want to see a lot of museums/sights, it could be cheaper than individual tickets. If you are in Florence for two days and want to see a lot of museums/sights in a short amount of time, it could be worth the cost.

Make sure you are on the official website, not a broker.

I was on what I thought was the Uffize's website ....Uffizi.org. I am more than willing to pay the 28 euros for two, but not 45...thanks for your posts. Probably will buy Firenza card.

We are in Florence now and solved all this hassle by becoming "friends of the Uffizzi" for 100 euros for a family membership. This card gets both of us ( also valid for two children if you have them) into the Accademia, Pitti palace, Bargello, and other state-owned museums. We researched and thought this a better deal than the Firenza card, because it is good for one year, and meant we could visit any museum multiple times during the 6 days we are here. Already been to the Uffizzi twice!

Go to Door #2 at the Uffizzi, and take picture ID with you to get the card. Short form to fill out. This is worth it if you are a family and will be here more than 72 hours.

THe official site is not the one you've mentioned. You can reserve for most of the museums through this website.

It's
http://www.b-ticket.com/b-ticket/uffizi/default.aspx

If it comes up in Italian, go to the bottom of the page and click on "english version". The official cost of a ticket is 6.50 euro plus a reservation fee of 4 euro for a total of 10,50 euro. there is a special exhibition on until May, which may bump the ticket price to 11 euro instead for a total of 15 euro a person.

if you can't find the time you want, you can call them. They speak English and are helpful on the phone. Just remember that it's a 6 hours time difference.

The Friends of the Uffizi can also be a good buy if you want to go many times or to many of the museums.

Thanks to this thread and Nancy in particular I was able to go to the official website for Ufizzi tickets and see that they will be 11 euro each. However, in the fine print "Terms and Conditions", there is a statement that visitors under 18 will be admitted free. This sounds too good to be true--is it? There are many bargains for European citizens but this is not worded as though it applies only to them. I would love to be able to reserve just one ticket for my daughter and me if possible.

Thanks,
Cynthia
