Uffizi tickets- can't verify phone

Hello- I am hoping that someone on the forum can help with this!
I have been unable to buy Uffizi tickets (Florence) because I can't verify my phone because the OTP code (one time password) is not coming thru via text.
Has anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it?!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

There are too many possibilities with the information you have given.

What phone, what carrier, are you trying from the US? etc

"Have you checked your SPAM filter" /traditional

  1. Contact your phone carrier. They may be able to see the problem.

  2. Besides trying to troubleshoot the mess you might try and buy them with a desktop computer, no phone, at their website. Or don't they do that anymore? Also Paypal is an out if you're having problems with Credit Cards.

edit: Looks like they are going through current changes. They also mention a new policy of linking your ID to the Tickets and may be having a problem with that.

Thank you for responding!
We have Verizon and have tried 3 different phone numbers (but same carrier).
It did not go to spam.
Uffizi now requires you to set up an account to buy tickets and have to confirm both email (which worked) and phone (which didn't work) with a OTP. You can not buy tickets without "verifying" your phone number unfortunately.

I'll check out the link you sent for more info.

Thanks!

Just a thought, but the phone number you gave them did include the country code?

Exact same issue happening as we speak. Country code is correct, phone number correct, they say they sent the OTP to my phone, annnnd nothing.

Another thought, calling to US from Europe uses the format 00 or + then the country code, then the US ten digits phone number. For example 0016151234567 or +16151234567.

Tickets may be purchased in advance online or through the call center (number: 800 615615; from abroad: +39 055 0354135 – available Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.).
From the link provided by Robert.

Buy them via the call center?

Ditto Joe32F. Last summer I made dozens of online reservations for a three week road trip in No. Italy and ALL of them went smoothly EXCEPT for the Uzzi. However, the Uzzi customer service # was a SUCCESS!

BTW. We chose to tour the Uzzi using the Rick Steves audio tour app and it was fantastic!
BTW#2. I'd skip the additional ticket to the newly open Corridoio Vasariano. It was a bit of a yawner.

Update: Managed to get through to the Uffizi phone line at 1:30am, they also said that I need to have a working account for them to process purchasing a ticket. We were working the issue when my phone cut off at 6 minutes exactly. The 6 minute cutoff keeps happening, making calling them difficult. Will update if I ever get through long enough to resolve it.

If it is of any help, I think you can still just buy at the counter, according to the website - we did it seven years ago, and it was really smooth, actually…

Update:
I was able to finally get thru via the phone number and they "fixed" my account so that I could order tickets online, which worked.

However, I think I probably spent more money on long distance fees than the tickets....
I was also cut off at 6 minutes the first 3 times I called, the last time I hit "0" a couple times as soon as the italian voice message started and this skipped me thru the first long bit of messages, so that I got to a live person before getting cut off!

In retrospect, I think it is probably easier (and cheaper) to just get your tickets there in person!

Thanks to everyone for your help!
