Hi, has anyone been recently in Florence visiting the Uffizi using Rick Steves' Florence & Tuscany book? I have an edition printed in Nov 2018. Is the information in the guide book with regards to the room reference and paintings still valid or has there been an update? Thank you.
There is a section for guidebook updates you might want to check:
https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/italy/guidebook-updates
You might also try your local library. They should have a more recent version. That's what I usually do.
We visited the Uffizi a few months ago and found that the general layout corresponded to the diagram shown in the 2018 edition ... which is what we used as well.
Haven't checked recently but there may be a diagram on the Uffizi website - can Google it to find out.
The audio tour, "Florence - Uffizi Gallery Tour" on the free Rick Steves Audio Europe app is also up to date. I liked using it last year because I could keep my eyes on the paintings, rather than on the book. You might also compare the text in the audio guide with the text in the book and see if they are similar, so you could decide which you'd like to carry with you.
Thank you all. All of you are right... the information is still valid. I had mistakenly taken the reference numbers for the paintings to be the room numbers, so it was my bad.
