Uffizi Gallery and Accademia in Florence- Reservations

Does anyone know if by making the reservations for these museums on-line allows you to "skip the line" or despite having a "time" to go to the museum, you will spend time waiting in line to get into the museum.

I have seen expensive "skip the line" offers through Viator and wonder why anyone would buy that if they can just make reservations through this website:
http://www.b-ticket.com/b-ticket/uffizi/venue.aspx

or this website in English: http://www.ticketsflorence.com/en/museums-tickets-florence-uffizi-accademia/accademia-gallery-tickets-florence

Or by calling the number listed in Rick Steve's book or website.

So... then I thought that maybe the reservation alone does not allow you to skip a line.... anyone know?

Thanks in advance of your help,

Katherine, use the b-ticket website to make your reservations/purchase your tickets: that's the 'official' site for both museums. Your reservation/tickets allow you to skip ticket lines but not security-check queues: NO ticket ordered from any website can do that. There may also be a line to pick up your reserved tickets, and if the museum is full to capacity, there will be a wait for enough to leave so more can enter. This from Rick's 2016 Italy page:

"In Florence, visitors with advance reservations or the Firenze Card sightseeing pass can skip the ticket-buying line (but you'll still have to get through security-check bottlenecks). At the Uffizi, there may be a queue to pick up your tickets, another 30-minute wait to enter, and then a slow shuffle through security — and that's with a reservation or a Firenze Card."

No, I've no idea why anyone would use alternate ticketing sites unless they were purchasing a tour.
