Has anyone tried using the kiosk to get a timed entry? We will be there on Sunday, June 2 which is a free day. We already have timed tickets for the Accademia that morning (8:15), wondering if we got a really early start if the kiosks are available at maybe 7:45am, before the museum opens... or not until opening?
Based on recent experience, the Italians are extremely prompt... not a minute early opening. However, any time you can be the first arriving at a museum or popular "attraction", do so! The crowds are much smaller early morning and you will actually get to see what you came to see before the hoards arrive. Go early. Go back to the hotel and nap. Then go late to the things open later, or just to wander the city at night... it is wonderful.
