Uffizi and Accademia with COVID-19 vouchers, our experience

Hello all,

I apologize is this has been addressed and I missed this. I asked before and got no responses.

In December of 2019, I purchased timed entry tickets to the Accademia and Uffizi gallery for July 2020. Of course that didn’t happen, and when I requested a refund I was sent a voucher, and after some back and fourth I confirmed that I did not need reservations.

This is how it all turned out:
Ufizzi - we went around 3:00 pm. They have an informaron kiosk and the lady directed me to door three. At the door, there were several people in line, but it’s like a priority ticket office. You must show your voucher and proof of payment and the IDs for any under 18. I had to pay my sons ticket on the spot because in 2020 he was 17 and now he is 19. They gave me tickets for all and we immediately went in.

Accademia: we were debating whether to go to the Duomo first, but asked our hotel concierge and he advised to go to Accademia first. Glad we did. Again there it was door 51 or 52. Special ticket office (the line for the regular one was crazy long). Again, with voucher they gave me tickets, and I paid for my son’s. BUT, unlike Ufizzi they give you next available time. At 10:30 that was 12:45. If we had waited to go later me might have run out of luck in finding an available time. So my recommendation is be there early.
