Uffizi and Academia Reservations

I have read that many of you have booked thru your hotel or B&B however mine told me to book from here( guess she doesn't want to do it).My problem is that we are not sure ot what time (we did decide on day) that we would make it into Florence. We are driving thru Tuscany. Are the lines long in November? Thank in advance for the advise

Since it seems to be common for hotels as well as B&Bs to make reservations for their customers, it seems that you may want to find a B&B that provides just a bit more customer service. Try the Residenza Il Villino in Florence. Perfect location and perfect host and hostess with Sergio and Elizabeth. They went out of their way to do ANYTHING we asked.

Hi Tim,

I'm going to Italy in May 2008 and have booked all my hotels except for Florence. Residenza Il Villino would not take my reservaton until January. I thought this was odd. For a hotel of his reputation, I was surprised and although it's still 5 months before leaving, I worry since the "good ones" book up fast. I wonder if I should find somewhere else to book now.

Linda, does sound strange. I stayed at the Pitti Palace and thought it was great. It's in a fabulous position and is central to everything. Clean and with a good and they are happy to make museum reservations.

Pat. That also sounds strange. Most hotels/B&Bs are happy to do this for you. I don't know how long you are staying in Florence but maybe you make a reservation when you arrive. We made ours the day before and had no problem. I wouldn't think the queues would be as bad in November as they would be in the high season but I'd still make a reservation as you don't have to queue at all.
