Uffizi & Accademia Tickets in Florence

I'm planning to purchase tickets to Uffizi and Accademia in advance via their official website, http://www.firenzemusei.it/, but in my shopping cart, it says pick up [tickets] on site. Does that mean that I would have to still wait in line to exchange my online ticket voucher for actual tickets at these museums or is there another place for people that purchase tickets in advance? I did have to enter a specific time for the Uffizi, but I don't want to miss my time because I had to wait in line to pick up my tickets.

Also, is it worth it to purchase the combo ticket to Uffizi, Pitti Palace and Boboli gardens? We are in Florence for 2 nights, getting in about noon but leaving early the 3rd day.

We had the Florence card so didn’t need to buy tickets individually. My guess is that the line to pick up tickets would be shorter than the one to purchase.

We didn’t do the Pitti Palace (it was closed) but loved Boboli Gardens. If you’re interested in all three go for the combo. If you’re only interested in two do the math first.

Good morning
When you purchase tickets on the official site, you pay for the reservation of the time to enter the Uffizi. It is extremely easy...you go to the museum 20 minutes early and you will see the sign for tickets on the opposite side of the entrance and pick them up using your reservation number. The line can be short or long, I always go early as they let us in the museum early on several occasions (by 15 min or so). If you are only in Firenze for 2 evenings, you won’t want to miss the other sites- the Duomo itself, Giotto’s bell tower and the newly renovated Opera dell Duomo (contains Michangelo’s final Pieta among other treasures). Walking around Florence is truly an experience and going to piazza Michangelo at sunset is a moment you won’t soon forget! Also, enjoy walking around early in the morning before the buses come in and also late in the evening- its magical!
